ATC Annual Report Highlight

The Tax Collector's office is responsible for the collection of property taxes.

Property Tax Postponement

The State Controller's Property Tax Postponement Program allows homeowners who are seniors, are blind, or have a disability to defer current-year property taxes on their principal residence if they meet certain criteria, including at least 40 percent equity in the home and an annual household income of $53,574 or less (among other requirements). The deferment of property taxes is secured by a lien against the property which must eventually be repaid. The State Controller's Office (SCO) accepts PTP applications from October 1 to February 10 each year. Go to the SCO website at sco.ca.gov for more information. Pay your property taxes conveniently and securely using our website.

FREE eCheck (electronic check) is a digital version of the paper check. The process mirrors paper checks, but is done electronically. The funds are withdrawn from the taxpayer’s bank account (usually a checking account), transferred over the ACH network, then deposited into the Tax Collector’s office bank account. There is no charge to use an electronic check.

To process your payment using a MasterCard, VISA, American Express, or Discover Card, our third party vendor charges a convenience fee of 2.25% (minimum of $1.95) for credit cards. The convenience fee is not retained by the Tax Collector.

The Treasurer's office provides banking services for all County departments who invest in the County Treasury Pool.
Tax Sales Tax-defaulted properties may be purchased through our office via an Online Auction. The next tax sale is scheduled for May 10 – 16, 2025.
